Teacher and Leader Evaluation System Design and Implementation: Overcoming Barriers and Seizing Opportunities

In this May 2013 presentation to the U.S. Dept. of Education, GTL Center Director Angela Minnici discusses the successes of teacher evaluation and the challenges states and districts are facing in designing and implementing educator evaluation systems.  These challenges include stakeholder engagement and buy-in, communication, knowledge management, training, creating professional growth systems, using evaluation data, alignment and integration, adapting to changes in context, scaling up, and sustainability.  The presentation concludes with recommendations for states and districts moving forward.
