From Good to Great: Exemplary Teachers’ Perspectives on Increasing Teacher Effectiveness Across the Career Continuum

What experiences and supports across the professional career continuum led exemplary teachers to become so effective? In September 2014, Ellen Sherratt of the GTL Center and Katherine Bassett of the National Network of State Teachers of the Year presented on the findings from the study From Good to Great: A Study of Teacher Perspectives on Factors Influencing Effectiveness at the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation. This study explored the perspectives of State and National Teachers of the Year on professional experiences and supports that moved them “from good to great.”  This presentation outlines the key findings and includes discussion questions on how your state or district could provide similar experiences or supports.
