Funding the Equitable Access Work in Your State

Funding the Equitable Access Work in Your StateAfter a state’s equitable access plan is written, how will the state fund the implementation of the strategies included? At the “Topical Meeting on Equitable Access to Excellent Teachers and Leaders,” hosted by the Center on Great Teachers and Leaders (GTL Center) and the Council of Chief State School Officers on February 3 and 4, 2015, Janice Poda presented on the federal, state, local, foundation, and private funding sources available to assist states in paying for the equity work planned.  Through examples, participants will learn how to maximize the funding sources available and how to find additional funding sources to support closing equity gaps. Participants will consider actions that state and local education agencies can take to provide the resources necessary for achieving the success envisioned in the state plan.
