Evaluator Training: Ensuring Quality and Reliability

To ensure that educator evaluation systems are implemented effectively, it is essential that evaluators receive high-quality training. In this June 2013 presentation at the Northeast Educator Effectiveness Research Alliance convening, Angela Minnici, Ph.D., provides an overview of state approaches to training as well as challenges and solutions to rubric design, personnel, and interrater reliability. She also offers examples of rubrics from Rhode Island, Ohio, and Colorado.
